Bitcoin has shown enormous resistance in the past and so has Goldcoin.

There is no reason why this isn't just another temporary blip, albeit a big one.

I think the fact that bitcoin did not drop below $400 (unless i missed it) is huge for the coin.....and for the market in general with all the bad press the last few days....it definitely feels orchestrated but a few countries stepped in to slow it down....I picked up a lot of GLD yesterday and so far today and i am still mining like crazy...so....hopefully 2014 is the year of the alt!

the fact BTC dropped like 60% is not a huge news, it's just the fact now its value so high that people panic
and the press makes it even more scary to those who jumped in for quick buck

cryptos are a marathon, long term investment and not just that - change of our monetary system
so keep your cool, don't do anything stupid and if you can afford.... buy more coins!

None of this will happen overnight.  Truthfully, all news is good news when it comes to bitcoin.  The run-up, the frenzy.  It helped bitcoin and the alts gain some great exposure.  Put it more in the mainstream for adaptation.  Don't fool yourself if you think it is going away.  I guarantee there are start-ups out there which are fighting to be the first to the punch.  Time will tell.  All we can do is build up the community as well as the technical and marketing infrastructure in the meantime.

Not much to worry for us looking into the long term but I can see how devastating it can be for short term investors.  I try not to look at the values of crypto each day but... haha

Now that I'm mining,  im definitely in it for 2+ years. I will reward myself at each milestone as gld increase in value
