Personally, I like the two lines.  Bitcoin has it and it piggybacks off that.  It's almost like it represents digital currency.

Just my two cents.  I like everything about this design.  It's brilliant in my book.

I thought I'd make it look 3D, I added an edge. Maybe someone one can use it on their site as a logo option or what ever if they want.

Someone deleted my post which offered my comments on the logo and branding ideas. Your censorship does not encourage community involvement.

As someone with a significant amount of coins I would like to contribute whatever ideas I have and let it up to the community to decide if they are good or not.

As I said before I think we should at minimum have the name GoldCoin embossed somewhere on the coin, either around the border or in the lower center. It would also be good to have some slogan, such as "The Gold Standard of Digital Currency" on the logo.

Along these lines I also think the client update in August needs to official change the name to GoldCoin, don't leave any left over litecoin or gldcoin references. Official name GoldCoin, ticker GLD

Yes in the future we will only use term Goldcoin and the ticker will be GLD.
