Marketplace for GLD 2 fiat & fiat 2 GLD
« on: January 31, 2014, 12:47:42 AM »
From my tiny introduction to cryptocoin I've learned that there are many road blocks to the growth and sustainability of many coins.

I'm seriously considering the creation of a micro marketplace -- 'a space' for direct GLD to fiat and fiat to GLD.   I'm thinking it must have various buy/sell rates connected to specific coin lot sizes: intro, retail, and wholesale.   The focus will be on doing micro-get-to-know-you deals until such time that both parties are comfortable doing bigger deals.

My question to you is what do you want to see there, what must the space have in order for you to feel comfortable visiting, trusting, and trading there?

Of course if all goes well other affordable coin will be included.

the coin could certainly do with a dedicated exchange since the initial project seems to have hit the buffers: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=1840.0 - some good tips there as to what would be desirable from a user perspective.

but if you're thinking more 'marketplace' then http://localgoldcoin.com/ by @4daysmining looks to offer something similar.

anyway, it's good to hear of more interest in development and i'd be happy to assit with testing/feedback etc if and when required.

Wow, looks like my interest in GLD was birthed right at about the time of that site's demise -- virtual reincarnation?

From what I read (1st and last pg of thread) it was a joyful experience while it lasted.    Admittedly, my sights (sites) were not that high, not even as high as localcoinexchange,  I want to approach this from a position of organic seed-like growth.

What I mean by that is, I put out a simple message (the seed), people respond  conversations are had (seed nourished), a deal is struck (germination), feedback provided (visible sprout), referral made  (branch) ... a byproduct of that slow organic growth process is business sustaining atmospheric trust.

With that said I ask, what micro size deal are you comfortable doing?  If we come to a meeting of the minds it will be the first deal for this yet unnamed biz.

I'm interested in how you would arrange the middle man process to be secure. Trust is one thing but security is another. Mind elaborating on your idea for this exchange so to speak?

I think looking at this from an application standpoint is a better idea. The creation of something like paypal but for goldcoin. So that instead of the site relying on incoming direct interest it will spread through the use of the product. And the marketplaces it creates.
