Desktop client Out of sync. Sent coins lost?
« on: February 28, 2014, 12:43:45 PM »
 I had 2000 GLDs on my desktop GLD Wallet. A few days ago I sent them to my tablet's address but I have never received them. I've double checked the address multiple times and I know it's correct.

On my desktop software it says "Recent Transactions (Out of sync)". What exactly does this mean. How can I transfer the coins?

Hi,

In all likelihood the coins are not lost its just that you're not up to date with your transactions (ie: You haven't downloaded the block chain completely).

Please do the following:

1. Check your desktop client's software version number:

You can do this by clicking "Help-> About GoldCoin (GLD)" on the main navigation menu.

Ensure it is "v0.7.1.7-gcf3abdf39d-beta", if not then download the latest client here:
http://gldcoin.com/get-started/

And close/exit your client.

2. Please synchronize your computer and tablet's date/time with a date time server (or do this manually). GLD will not function correctly if your computer's clock is out of sync by more than 45 seconds.

You can read more about this here: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=730.msg3863#msg3863

3. Please navigate to "C:\Users\[Your username here]\AppData\Roaming\GoldCoin (GLD)"

Please delete all files/folders EXCEPT "wallet.dat" and goldcoin.conf.

Open your goldcoin.conf with notepad,

Find the first instance of "addnode="

Replace it and everything below it with:

Code: [Select]
addnode=54.201.183.106
addnode=162.243.57.246
addnode=72.78.100.7
addnode=99.253.2.126
addnode=98.111.146.158
addnode=75.129.241.242
addnode=68.235.182.234
addnode=174.53.218.230
addnode=217.31.181.40
addnode=81.184.24.81

Save.. and start your client..

It may take up to an hour for the blockchain to fully sync (the first time), but you should now see your coins again (they will likely be sent to your tablet).

Thanks for the walk through. I've done as requested but my wallet is still out of sync.

I've done some digging on the forum and see having port 80 closed can be an issue. Yes/No? Mine is closed. How do I open it.

How come it use to sync?

thanks again
