Transaction Question from Newbie
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:01:05 AM »
I woke up this morning to check how my goldcoin mining has been going and noticed I have 5 transactions now instead of 4. I can see the two mining blocks I had found and gotten paid for, as well as the 2 "donations" sent, but there is no 5th transaction anywhere.

I checked transaction history and there is not a 5th transaction, so can anyone please tell me why it says I have 5 transactions when I actually only have 4?

At one time, I had Litecoin Wallet up at the same time as Goldcoin wallet and sent Litecoin to someone. Would Goldcoin have also counted this transaction? That is the only thing I can come up with. How bout you guys?

Thank you.

hmmmm?

I think this might be related to an orphan block. If you mined an orphan, the transaction would have later reversed. I'm pretty sure it's not related to your Litecoin transactions in any way.

Maybe someone else has some ideas. Do you have a transaction ID?

last night when goldcoin diff. went low it hit #1 on coinwarz and i think a few with really high hash power jumped on which then created a extra amount of orphans until the diff. catches up or the mega miners jump off.  When solo mining if you get an orphan it counts as a transaction then the block reverses but the transaction counter doesn't.

got to love our 51% defense that also works as a multipool defense that only allows blocks to be found an average of 2 minutes.  Without this a multipool could come in and stripmine 60-120 blocks in like 10-20 minutes and dump them on the exchange over and over again.  Many coins have fallen because of this.   A multipool might try and mine goldcoin now and again but they will soon realize that it is not profitable for them.  :)

This is what I mean. Notice since I traded for 183.9 GLD since my first post, the transaction overview page shows 6 transactions, but my transactions tab with all and all selected only show 5.

Wondering where the extra transaction came from or went. If I mined an orphan block, it would show the transaction in the list I believe even though it will say not accepted when selected.

It's been a long time since I mined an orphan block, but if my memory is correct the entry reverts without leaving a transaction history.

Ok then I must have gotten unlucky and found a block that someone else found shortly before me.

Oh well, finding 2 blocks in 2 days in a row with 190 khash/s is good enough for now. Can't win them all I guess!
