Request for a regular report

Hey guys,

I noticed that a cool thing some of our competitors do is release a regular report/update that covers everything officially being done for goldcoin (development, adoption, etc).  This could be any medium: article, forum post, paper, video etc (CGB does an article and vertcoin does a video it seems).  Could be weekly, biweekly, monthly or whatever.

I know Micro Guy is great with posting news when it happens and that GLD development is always ongoing, but I think this would go a long way to improve confidence, especially to newcomers.  People feel better when they are regularly receiving updates.  Even if not much is going on, it is just good to know the gears are turning.  Plus people can look back and see all the progress that has been made.

Anyways I think this would take little to no time at all but could help the currency appear more official and authentic.  Thoughts?

I think it would be fantastic if all the main contributors to the project said just a few words each month about what they've been doing. As well as this we could compile other information such as new exchanges we've been listed on or new pools which have opened up that month.

Open and honest behaviour is essential with all the nonsense that surrounds many coins at the moment.

This would be a great project for someone that keeps up with the daily news and events within the community. Maybe it could be a regular "week in review" type newsletter or report.

I actually would not mind creating a formal version each month (at least in the near future) but I would need the contact information of every major player in Goldcoin so I could assemble the information without too much stress on everyone else.  I could just call/email once a month.

I would make it a formal document so there would ideally need to be a place on the main website to "publish" it to.  We could also send it to every member's email or something.  Not every gold coin user uses these forums after all.  If you all are interested contact me via email and I can make up some document designs for approval.

If you sign up with trello (you can do it with existing accounts afaik) you should be able to request to join the gld project and then simple drag yourself (your avatar) to tasks that you want to assume control over or participate in.

Is there any way to make the facebook account open to everyone? Everytime i click on a link it wants a name and password. Seems im missing some valuable news that gets discussed there. I have avoided signing up to facebook from day one, even when it was trendy, and still never intend to agree to any of their polices for signing up. So is there anyway for non facebook account holders to read the goldcoin forums there?

I think this might be a general Facebook restriction. To the best of my knowledge, there is no option for making the group viewable to non-facebook account holders.

But thanks for bringing this to my attention. Generally, I try to mirror important information by posting it in this forum, on the Reddit page, and on Facebook. I will pay closer attention to make sure that all of these resources receive the same news.

Fortunately, this is an easy fix if your Facebook page is appropriate for people under the age of 18.

    Login to Facebook and edit your page.
    Click on “Manage Permissions” in the left column.
    Change the “Age Restrictions” setting to “Anyone (13+).

You should now be able to see your Facebook information on your website whether you are currrently logged in to Facebook or not.

I took a look at the Group settings and unfortunately this does not appear to be an option.

Perhaps this only works for pages and not groups.
