Since it appears to be in popular demand here is the official Java Client Progress thread!

Well, since everyone is asking for when the new client will be finished. I thought I'd go ahead and give you guys a update.

Note for obvious reasons not all encryption modes can be intermixed.. We do however support the vastest set of encryption modes in all of cryptocurrency!

What a progress report I would like to say thanks for all the hard work.
I know people are getting restless to see it don't let that bother you quality is the number one thing here.
Quality will be what separates GoldCoin from the others I have been watching GoldCoin since you took it over and I am impressed there has been many come and gone are you sure you're not (akumaburn Satoshi Nakamoto)  ;)

You have a lot of features in this first java release.  I wonder if it would be better to lower the number of features and finish a smaller version with increments like a fancy gui,etc coming as updates.

Well im glad I finally found this page.  :)

Very nice progress bars, its like watching the bar in windows when your copying, we all know its not precise but at least it gives something to stare at while you wait.

I see the last update was on the 20th of this month, a new little update would be nice, just to show its still going.  ;)

I just want to reiterate that im very excited about this coin and I have spoken to a few people about it to invest into what I believe has the potential to be the number one coin.  :)

To the Developers - Im sure I can say we all appreciate the work you guys are putting in and really looking forward to the end product.  ;D

Any news yet on when the wallet will be ready ?

I did notice there was an edit on the 6 Aug by Microguy, but I compared the bars to the previous update from the 20 July and they where exactly the same.

Was there any changes done ?

Yes, there is progress being made.  :D

Akumaburn stated in the Facebook group on Wednesday that the client would be ready for beta testing soon. This is a massive undertaking and it's taking a bit longer than originally planned.

I just dont use facebook that much and prefer the forum, to be honest.

With all those features im sure its a big undertaking, so i totally understand the time needed.

I am on my side trying to get more people interested in GoldCoin, and having some new news to share helps allot.

Is there anyway i can be included in for the Beta testing ?  ;D

Sure! We can always use the help of the community in beta testing new products.

There will also be some extra network infrastructure built around the new client that will require testing. These new tools should position us well to make a run at Bitcoin.
