CGminer Help with CryptoCoinMine
« on: August 08, 2013, 08:04:40 AM »
I've been playing around with CGminer.  It's showing 51.23Mh/s and it's showing I found 3 Blocks. I don't know if I did something wrong or what.

So I thought I'd ask, I assume it's working because of the MH/s and showing I found Blocks. But nothing is showing up on CryptoCoinMine (I have no stats at all on the site). It's like I'm not even mining any idea if it's something I'm doing or is it the site?

Thanks

Note: Is it showing the Pool Stats, Not my Stats? I told you all I'm new at this lol....

My Stats did show up, but it took a long time. But it's showing I'm only getting 4 KH/s. So now I have a question  :o How many KHash in a MHash or how ever it works. I've searched and can't find anything.

To be honest I didn't even put a video card in the PC. I just installed cgMiner and played with it and it stared working. I also switched to VirCurPool and it works. So now I have cgMiner and ScryptMiner running and my Khash/s are higher on the site.  Iwas testing a couple of other Pools and I just went back to VirCur Kh/s are at 16 now but they'll go to 50 or so. Better than the 30 Kh/s I was getting with my CPUs.

If you use cgminer you must have the --scrypt parameter for cgminer to use the correct hashing function.  I have never seen SHA-256 running a scrypt coin pool find blocks, but they would not be valid.  1000 KH/s = 1 MH/s.

Well it's got me I stopped mining and went out for awhile. But I just started it back up. As you can see it's running about 50 Mh/s But my Kh/s on VirCur are only showing at 4 KH/s and there not going up lol I started mining a about 10 mins ago.

Well I'm a n00b whats  block eruptors?  :o  I only have a stock PC with Win 8, I never added anything other than scripts and wallets.

LOL Well I know it's not working right. Because I found 2.8K Shares  ::)  I also switched to Get Work I was using Strartum. As you can also see I'm getting Rejected. But the Kh/s are up to 24 right now and going up it was at 12 about 4 mins ago. Guess I just need the correct setting for it to work. Anyone have any ideas what the settings should be in the conf file?

Your .conf file for cgminer needs this:

"scrypt" : true

While your best share was a 2.8K difficulty, the number of accepted shares by the pool is zero (0).  The number of accepted shares is after the "A:"  Next to the "A:" is the "R:" which is the number of rejected shares.

Block Errupters are for mining bitcoins:  http://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=store.  They are rather high in price at 0.60 BTC, it will take 6 months to a year to make your money back, if you are lucky.

I don't have any Block Erupters, that's for sure.

I added the "scrypt" : true now I keep getting an error message "Error in config file, partially loaded"  I take it I'm missing a file or something, because the script didn't fully load with the scrypt : true

The JSON format is very picky about having exact syntax. Every comma,colon and quote has to be exactly right or cgminer miner cannot use it.

Here is an example from one of my rigs:

Code: [Select]
"pools" : [

        {
                "url" : "http://gld.cryptocoinmine.com:3333",
                "user" : "xxxxxx",
                "pass" : "xxxxxx"
        }
]
,
"intensity" : "15",
"vectors" : "2",
"worksize" : "256",
"kernel" : "scrypt",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "0",
"shaders" : "1564",
"gpu-engine" : "900",
"gpu-fan" : "0-75",
"gpu-memclock" : "1350",
"gpu-memdiff" : "0,0",
"gpu-powertune" : "0,0",
"gpu-vddc" : "0.000",
"temp-cutoff" : "95",
"temp-overheat" : "85",
"temp-target" : "75",
"api-port" : "4028",
"expiry" : "120",
"gpu-dyninterval" : "7",
"gpu-platform" : "0",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"hotplug" : "5",
"log" : "5",
"no-pool-disable" : true,
"queue" : "1",
"scan-time" : "60",
"scrypt" : true,
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"shares" : "0",
"kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin"
}

true and false in this JSON format is different in that it does use quotes when used as a parameter. Make sure the comma is after the true parameter and that there is no comma after the last parameter.

I also noticed that in the screen shots Cgminer is showing GPU speeds in MH/s. This means it is hashing in SHA-256 mode. CGminer will think it is creating valid hashes, because it is if the coin is sha-256, until it submits them to the pool. The pool then rejects them as they are not valid hashes for a scrypt coin like Goldcoin.

You will know CGminer is hashing in scrypt mode when your GPU speed measurements are in KH/s.

cryptocoinmines down or at least not taking any new clients at this time. please wait in the waiting room with the others. lol

hey paint just noticed if your trying to mine with a gpu..... your clock and mem engine settings say 0 (zero) 0-0. to set it up use gpu caps veiwer to see your settings and make your engine clock 25 more than it says and set mem to about a third or half.
try that.

if im wrong guys help a brother miner out.
