bter exchange voting

Goldcoin is now on bter voting list and already moving up.  Currently it is #62 out of over 200 coins in just a couple of days since being listed for voting.  Every hour you can vote up to 10 times depending on how many bter points you have.  Bter points are really easy to build up with as little as .1 BTC you can trade BTC/CNY back and forth to build them up for max votes.  It takes around 28500 Bter points to reach the full 10 votes per hour.      https://bter.com/voting

Thats good news, we need to get goldcoin listed on there because it opens our trading activity to more people.

I moved some BTC to Bter and started trading BTC/CNY to get votes for Goldcoin.

We only need another ~34800 votes :o

We are now at position 30, lets have more of an effort and send as little as 0.1 btc over to bter and do some trading as other members have stated so we can start to gain more votes. We are moving up but i think we could do a lot better.

I went to vote again this morning and Bter is down.  Somehow their cold wallet was compromised.

7170 BTC got stolen from our cold wallet in this transaction:

720 BTC bounty for chasing it back.

All wallets have been shut down and withdrawals of unaffected coins will be arranged later.

This is terrible news.  I have used this exchange in the past, but hopefully didn't have any balance. 

Typically a Cold Storage wallet would be a paper wallet in a safe, I would think.  If 7k BTC was stolen from it, perhaps it was an inside job or they had terrible security.
