bittrex liquidity warning
« on: December 03, 2016, 01:53:29 AM »
something i'd feared for awhile, not that delisting is the biggest problem about having low liquidity, for proper use as a currency we seriously need to address low liquidity issues.

bittrex warning is just a wake up call.

ideas on improving exchange  liquidity

As odd as it sounds, I think even just having fun here and being more active helps.  The sense of community has gone down some the past 4 or 5 months.  People check in (even non-members) and if they see little activity they think the coin is declining even if the devs are working their tails off.  Perhaps it's just a perception issue.

Maybe I'm off base.

the threat of delisting itself i don't see as any reason for panic, many a strong coin has been delisted, and goldcoin has previously., so nothing to panic about.

again liquidity itself is a bigger issue then what exchange does or doesn't list goldcoin.

yes tadpoles and as i stated in a previous thread, to the market no news is the same as bad news, no matter what great work is going on behind the scenes. investors in anything whether it be crypto or any market, need constant reassurance; that is just basic human investment behavior.

and yes a sense of community also goes a long way in reassuring investors.

It's great to see the community coming together again. Thank you Kelsey for this thread.

The core team was under the impression that Bittrex had a daily volume requirement of .3 BTC. We have been vigilant in our monitoring and maintenance of this requirement. It's important to note that a substantial portion of our volume is not directly reported. Last month, for example, trygoldcoin.com had record sales with totals in the thousands of dollars. As the operator of that site, I regularly telegraph these sales across the various exchanges. Generally, I select the exchange with the lowest price. But now I will take into consideration this new Bittrex minimum and telegraph those sales accordingly.

We also have other programmatic means of enhancing volume and can use these methods to make up for volume deficits. But ideally we need organic volume from interested traders and investors.

Please find below my letter to Bittrex concerning this new notice on the Goldcoin trading page:

Today I gave an online seminar on how to buy Goldcoin to an affinity group in the US. I am also working with our Nigerian partners to satisfy their recent request to secure 500,000 Goldcoins. If anyone is interested in selling 100,000 or more coins, please contact me via private message.

Goldcoin is in a great position at the moment with many moving parts happening in the background. I must do a better job of communicating our progress moving forward. Once the Cryptsy situation gets resolved (yes, we're working on that too) it's going to be up, up, and away for Goldcoin.

If anyone ever needs me for anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. As always, I am at your service!

I have just received word from Bittrex that GoldCoin is safe and will NOT be delisted.

In addition, I was told their listing requirements are likely to increase in the future and they expect to see greater adoption moving forward. Bittrex has decided to differentiate itself from other exchanges by maintaining these high standards.

Soon, Bittrex will be introducing a brand new interface featuring uniform animated coin icons site-wide. You can see the new Bittrex GoldCoin icons here: http://labs.allienworks.net/icons/cryptocoins/
