Thanks for that info.

Is that the only place to buy goldcoin?  and what is the reason bitcoin must be purchased first?  is it because it is the universal coin by which all coin are measured or what? 


I've got a lot of loyal customers that spend lots of money buying good from us, and I spend tons of money in fees, so the coin thing would be great for me, however I know most of my customers are not going to want to bounce from one site to another site just to get goldcoin so that they can buy products with the currency from me.

If there was a more direct avenue, I think more customers would buy goldcoin so that they could buy my products from me

you could set your site up with https://www.coinpayments.net/ and then choose the coins you are willing to accept bitcoin, goldcoin among others.  Cryptsy is working on accepting USD but who knows how long that will be.  One day goldcoin will be easier to buy directly with any fiat or credit cards but then the price might be a lot higher.

There is an exchange where GLD could be purchased for fiat (https://gldmarket.com), although the developer appears to be busy with something right now. It should be live sometime in the future, or another one would likely be created.

As was stated above, one of the biggest reasons the price is so low at the moment is due to the difficulty of getting fiat converted into Goldcoin (GLD).

Before long exchanges like Cryptsy.com will have GLD/USD markets. Ebay is also apparently starting to come around to the idea of cryptocurrencies. I suspect we'll see more and more Goldcoin transactions occurring on their platform in the future.

I think once the fiat bottleneck is eliminated the price of Goldcoin will increase substantially. So this could prove to be an excellent opportunity for speculators who are willing to negotiate the current exchange hurdles and invest in the currency now.

you mentioned ebay,  when goldcoin gets recognized over there as a product it will competing with physical gold coins for attention.  you see how even at least one person clearly thought this was a forum about gold coins rather than goldcoin or gldcoin or gld coin. 


I'll do all of my homework, search high and low, if the vehicle doesn't exist I'll look into what it takes to create it.
