[UPDATE] Mandatory Update 0.7.1.7 (Difficulty Enhancement)

Updated December 01, 2013

The Goldcoin development team has just released mandatory software update V 0.7.1.7.

- Fixed minor bug in 0.7.1.6 that prevented the difficulty enhancements from actually taking place.
- Should normalize difficulty in a few hours.
- Ensure you have updated before block 118800
- Mandatory update!

Excuse my excitement and language.

THIS IS HUGE NEWS!!!  This makes GoldCoin truly the GOLD standard in cryptocurrency.  Holy [beep]!!!

A huge hats off to MicroGuy, the genius Akumaburn, Stouse49 and the rest of the development staff.

I can't  believe it. 

You guys truly are remarkable.

If i wasn't on the verge of being kicked outa my home(by the fiat money bank criminals we've all learned to despise), then id load up on so much GLD cryptsy wouldn't know what hit it. And the little GLD i do have, im proud to hold it knowing you guys are behind the scenes, building a safety net that'll catch gldcoin if anyone ever tried to knock it down. Kudos guys.

it seems to close just after opening before it starts downloading the blockchain

Which platform and 32bit or 64bit?

Also can you put the contents of your debug file (under the appdata folder where your wallet is) into http://pastebin.com

and give me the link?

Note also, that if you are using the daemon, then you will need to install QT (if you haven't already), as we make use of some of the time functions in that library.

I'm heading to bed atm, but will look at it tomorrow. I'm currently testing on win 7 x64 as well, however I don't have any such issues.

You may be on the wrong chain, try deleting all the files in your appdata folder except goldcoin.conf and wallet.dat and start your client.

Ok I have it working now.   I think my prob was after backing up my wallet.dat then uninstalling I also deleted my gld file in my  roaming folder before the install and then it wouldnt work but on my other computer i backed up my wallet did the uninstall and left the roaming folder alone reinstalled and it worked fine.

Yes thats the trick to solve the problem, but the dev team is looking at it to solve this small problem for some people.
