I'm the only one showing up on gld.cryptocoinmine.com.

I think dreamwatcher's dramatic announcements are scaring people off his pool--WHICH HAS WORKED GREAT FOR ME!

Maybe he should just say, "Hey guys...slight change....etc, etc.

Then again maybe I'm just being foolish.

I don't know why but get work port 2339 isn't working.  I've been trying to connect for awhile. Today is the first time I've had trouble with it.

Note: I just tried VirCurPool  and I can't mine there either. Don't know if something happened on my end or what. But I can't find any problems.

Have you tried mining_proxy? It always works for me.

The Goldcoin pool has been switched over to proportional. All your account information has been transferred. Account balances have been manually switched over from the PPS pool and will show up as 'Credit_PPS' in your account transactions.

The Stratum and LP back ends were up and down for a bit as I switched them over to the new pool.

I am running a rig on each now and they both seem to be running.  :)

As for the Long poll port:

It seems to freeze up every few days, almost at random.

I have changed the way I mine, so I may not catch it immediately.

I only mine from 9pm to 9am and weekends (CDT). With special exceptions of course, like today testing the pool switch over.

I get a much better electrical rate going to time-of-day rates. The rate is less then half during the off-peak hours and weekends over the straight rate plan.

On peak rates are much too high to be profitable for mining, but mining during the off-peak hours in theory should more than make up to for it.

Maybe I can set a cpu on one of the rigs to mine on the LP port all the time so I can catch when it goes down faster.

It seems the hashrate display is off.  My cards show they are hashing at the normal rate but the website is displaying a much lower number.  Maybe it's just me.  I didn't restart them.

You are correct, the hash rates are off. I have been trying different things behind the scenes to correct them

Be aware that all the statistics are display only and have nothing to do with payout calculations or anything of similar importance.

There was a snag in the beginning where the block calculations where not being called right and when I corrected it, a rush of blocks were calculated. This may be throwing off the hash rate calculations.

I did change the statistics calculation to every 30 seconds and it improved it a little. Payout calculations are still done every time a new block comes on the network, weather solved by the pool or not. Though one will only see a change in balance when the pool solves a block because of the way proportional works.

For now I am going to wait a day and see if the numbers stabilize. The front end pool software on its longest calculation uses 24 hrs of blocks.

Just to be clear:  The hash rates and other display data does NOT effect the actual payout calculations. They are completely different routines.

Goldcoin pool is temporary shut down

Over the last couple of days, I have been receiving more and more complaints about shares not being paid. I am shutting down the mining portion of the pool, but the website will remain up for people to withdrawal coins on account.

I am going to move the pool to a different server and again update the front end to the latest version before reopening for mining.

My biggest complaint is that I keep having to switch my miners to different pools when you change.  Don't let the haters push you around man.  We like your pool.

Everything seemed on the up and up to me.

It is not a matter of "haters", but of people genuinely not getting their shares counted.

There was an attempt to hack the pool. The last 100 or so registrations had user names that were SQL injection strings.

I have paid out everybody that had payout addresses entered into the pool.

I have 16 users that did not leave a payout address, so I will be emailing them for an address to send coins to.

I am kind of disappointed to see the network hash rate drop so much when my pool shut down yesterday.

I am in the works of setting up a new pool on a new server. This will have the most recent version of pool software, which has some pretty nice features.

I am setting up on a VPS I have hardly used, but kept because I get such a good deal on it. This will allow me to shut down the VPS cryptocoinmine was on, which was rather expensive.

Re-registering will be necessary because of the SQL attacks. E-mail verification upon registration will also be turned on.   :(

Sorry about this, but it will stop or at least greatly slow down any future attacks.

The pool should be up sometime this weekend.
